1. Rooted Android Device

Yes, you have to root your android device to hack wifi. Rooting your device gives you system access which requires for hack wifi in android.

These are some common steps to root your device.

Unlock Bootloader of your android device using ADB and fastboot tools on your pc or laptop.

Flash custom TWRP recovery in your device.

Flash Magisk or SuperSU zip files in your device using TWRP recovery.

2. Custom Nethunter Kernal

We need to flash the custom nethunter kernel to get the support of monitor mode in your device.
